Mardi Himal Trekking is one of the exotic, interesting and the bitten Eco-tourism based trekking destination in Annapurna Himalaya region. Mardi Himal is the name given to the feature of the long rising ridge and its summit that from the south-westerly lower slope of Mount Machhapuchhare, the famous triangular skyline that is seen from the Phewa Lake at Pokhara. Mardi Himal is located in the east of the Modi Khola. Mardi himal trek offers an opportunity to explore traditional villages, incredible scenery, infinite and diversity of culture, spectacular views of livery mountains and tempting views of River and you can see the exotic valley on the way of trekking trail. The emphasis of the treks is on the forest and wilderness zone of these mountains. Mardi Himal trekking offers superb Himalayan scenery including the Mt. Dhauglagiri 8167m, Mt. Annapurna 8091m, Annapurna II 7937m, Annapurna III 7555m, Annapurna IV 7525m, Annapurna south 7219m Hiunchuli 6441m, Fish tail/Machhapuchhare 6988m etc from the nearer point with enjoying peaceful and non crowded environment. Mardi Himal trekking, follows the least trodden trail away from the trekkers madding crowd with and essence of exploration. We ascend through Hindu villages; pristine oak and rhododendron forest to alpine campsite that afford close up dramatic scenery of sacred Mt. Machapuchare, Mardi Himal and Annapurnas. We descend from the different route to the warm valley and friendly villages on the bank of Mardi River still away from the used trekking routes. The first ascent to the Mardi Himal in 1961. The first route was via the East Flank and it is the only used so far. Mardi Himal separates the southwest ridge of fishtail as a separate mass at right angles to the ridge and it is best seen from the south Descend the same route.
Mardi Himal Trekking Itierary
Day 01:Meet at Kathmandu Airport and transfer to hotel
Day 2:Kathmandu to Pokhara 820m.
Drive by private bus/ van or take a flight. If drive it will be about 6 to 7 hour drive to Pokhara with a scenic Prithvi High way and if by flight it will be 25 minutes flight with majestic view of high Himalayas. Overnight in a Hotel.
Day 03:Pokhara to Dhampus 1600m: 30 minute drive 2 and half hour work.After break fast drive to Phedi via Tibetan camp and steep climb up to Dhampus village one of the big Gurung village Spectacular panoramic views of Annapurna Himalayan range... Overnight in a camp with a full view of Annapurna Ranges.
Day 04:Dhampus to Forest Camp 6 hour walk:
Today Trek enter an enchanted forest of birch, giant rhododendron, mountain oak, maple, hemlock and daphnia, camping in a small clearing far from the beaten trail overnight in a camp.
Day 05:Forest Camp to Low Camp 3150m, 5 hrs walk.
As we climb, the flora has turned to classic 'cloud forest' with mosses and lichen, tree ferns and orchids hosted by the hardier trees. Now and then, there are windows in the woods that look out onto thrilling panorama – towards Himchuli, Annapurna South and we have spectacular northerly views of the ever-closer 'Fishtail'
Day 06:Low Camp to High Camp 4100m, 4hrs walk:
Have an early breakfast and we start trekking to reach our highest point of the trek, if conditions are favorable, up to 15,000 /16,000 ft. In the afternoon we return to our camp. If the weather is clear, the view today will never be forgotten. Overnight in camp.
Day 07:Rest day
at high camp you can make a day hiking over there having a good view. Overnight at camp 4100m.
Day 08:High Camp to Siding Village 1280m.
After breakfast, Today journey start an unhurried descent through the shade of the forest, and out onto terraced fields, down 1,600 m. This is a different route down –to the upper Mardi Khola. Here, as we make our way along the banks of the Mardi Khola from the hill-side village of Siding, down through the lovely fields, past the simple farms and over the 'interesting' bridges, there is no doubting this is indeed the idyllic Nepali countryside. Overnight at camp.
Day 09:Siding Village to Pokhara.
After a short walk now the trail skirts an outcrop – there’s the road, there's our transport, and soon we're back in Pokhara for our last lunch and half day sightseeing in pokhara valley
Day 10:Fly or drive back to Kathmandu.
Day 11:Kathmandu valley sightseeing tour
Full day’s sightseeing in Kathmandu valley includes the Hindu temple Pashupatinath (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) & the biggest Buddhist Stupa at Boudhanath. Also visit Monkey Temple the Swyambhunath (2000 years old temple) and visit Patan city of fine arts. Return to the hotel.
Day 12:Early morning drive to Nagarkot for sunrise view. After sunrise view back to Bhaktapur. Bhaktapur Durbar Square is a conglomeration of pagoda and shikhara style temples grouped around a fifty-five window palace of brick and wood. The square is one of the most charming architectural showpieces of the Valley as it highlights the ancient arts of Nepal. The golden effigies of kings perched on the top of stone monoliths
Day 13:Final departure, transfer to airport.
