Soul of Danxia Landform

Bajiaozhai, situated in the boundary areas between Guangxi and Hunan provinces, which is 138 Km north of Guilin City.

Bajiaozhai, also known as Yuntai Shan, it's remarkable for its Danxia topography and it's the combination of the sturdiness of Mt Tai ( Shandong province), the steep of Mt Hua ( Shaanxi province) and the elegance of Mt Emei ( Sichuan province). the main peak is Yuntai Peak, which is 818 meters above the sea level. the scenery including the group of snails looking up the sky, the ancient trail, the Valley of life and death, Eye-stone, Joss stick of dragon's head and the Treasured sword Peak, etc. Here you can enjoy the sunrise or sunset and the sea of clouds.

Generally speaking, the Danxia rock formation in the inland basin was originally a red rock debris, and later, it uplifted due to the movement of the earth-crust, erosion of rocks by the water and weathering, which was dominant in the hillside to collapse back, kept down the rocks to form the red mountain block. In 1996, the Ministry of Forestry approved Bajiaozhai as a national forest park and this area was listed into the Natural Heritage of the world in 2009 by UNESCO.

The geologists and experts have praised it as " the Soul of Danxia Landform ".
