Detailed Description of 10 Days Accra, Cape Coast and Wester Ghana Trip.


Day 1… Arrival in Accra Ghana.
AKWAABA (Welcome to Ghana)

Your guide will welcome you on arrivals at Kotoka International Airport in Accra for safe transport to your hotel in a comfortable vehicle. Depending on your time of arrival, you may go through an orientation and have a City Tour of Accra.

Day 2……… Accra City Tour.

You will take a tour in the Capital City of Ghana. The 128 years old city has everything you could ever ask for in a modern city. It has bits and pieces from the past, grand architectural skills are put on display and there is no shortage of fun places to visit.

Places to visit include the Independence Square where the country first declared freedom from British rule.

You will also visit the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, that chats the life of the first President of Ghana, and the final resting place.

You will also visit the W.E.B Du Bois Center for Pan African culture, Jamestown lighthouse, and fishing harbor.

After lunch, you will visit the Arts Center where you can get yourself some souvenirs and you will visit a fancy coffin shop in Teshie where coffins are made in various shapes and designs.

You will return to your hotel afterward to retire for the night and prepare for the next day.
Another interesting place to visit today is the Makola Market where people all over Accra come to shop.

Day 3…… Aburi Botanical Garden – Canoe Ride Ada Foah.

You will visit the beautiful Aburi Botanical Garden to start our day with rich History under tall trees Aburi Botanical Garden.

This site hosts the first Helicopter which was donated to Ghana Arm Forces by Queen Elizabeth, and is one of the scientific research center in Ghana.
You will further have a Canoe Ride Adventure on the last day of your trip at Ada Foah, on the southeast coast of Ghana, where the Volta River meets the Atlantic Ocean.

It’s known for its palm-lined beaches and estuary islands. On the seafront are traces of Fort Kongenstein, built by 18th-century Danish traders.

Next to the old Presbyterian Church is a 19th-century missionary cemetery.

Day 4… Shai Hills Wildlife Reserve – Boshuban Shrine – Assin Manso Slave River.

You will take a Wildlife Safari drive this morning at Shai Hills, the only protected wildlife reserve in Accra, where you have the opportunity to see different kind of Monkeys, Kobs, Western Olive Baboons will greet you at the entrance, outstanding Birds, also learn about the Culture of the people of “Shai”, as well as visiting the “Cave” Situated in the park where the people of Shai lived.

The Adventure of Slave Trade begins today.

You drive from Accra passing through Boshuban Shrine, spot to learn about the Religion and Tradition of the Mfantiman, further visit the Assin Manso Slave River, where the slaves captured in Ghana and Africa had their “Last Bath” and was the First since they were captured in to prison by the European traders and Portuguese, before they were shipped to America, Brazil and other countries to bring the day to a close.

Day 5… Kakum National Park – International Stingless Bee Centre – Crocodile Pond.

You will take Adventure tour at the Kakum National Park, as you will get to walk on West Africa’s only Rainforest Canopy Walkway after you are given a tour of the forest to teach you the Cultural, Medicinal and Economic importance of the plants you will find in the forest.

The Canopy Walkway suspended 30 meters above the ground, 350 meters stretched between 7 strong Forest Trees with platforms, that gives you an outstanding treetop views of the incredible Rain Forest. Further visit Stainless Bee Center, for excursion on different kinds of bees, how they work and the medicinal types of honey they produce.

You will have encounter with crocodiles at Hans Cottage where we will have opportunity to touch crocodiles before you retire for the day.

Day 3… Cape Coast Slave Castle – Elmina Castle.
You will also visit Cape Coast and Elmina Castles, also known as the UNESCO World Heritage Sites, to learn about the bitter stories of the African Slave Trades and how it affected the country.

You will also see monuments standing in Castles built by the colonial masters, one of which is the Cape Coast Castle. This castle was originally built by the Swedes in 1653 before it was taken by the British.
In this castle is the West African Historical Museum that was established in 1994.

Your last day on the trip will lead you to Elmina Castle, which was erected by the Portuguese in 1482 as Sao Jorge da Mina Castle, also known simply as Mina or Feitoria da Mina in present-day Elmina, Ghana. It was the first trading post built on the Gulf of Guinea, and the oldest European building in existence in south of the Sahara.

Day 7 – Cape Three Points – Nzulezo Stilt Village.

Your day will lead you to Cape Three Points, located between the coastal village of Dixcove and town of Princes Town, Ghana. Cape Three Points is known as the “land nearest nowhere” because it is the land nearest a location in the sea which is at 0 latitude, 0 longitude and 0 altitude (the distance is about 570 km). It marks the western end of the Gulf of Guinea.

You will then make your way to Nzulezo Stilt Village, located near the village of Beyin, roughly 90 kilometers west of Takoradi, in the Jomoro District of the Western Region of Ghana.

Nzulezo overlooks the Lake Tadane, and is entirely made up of stilts and woods, you`ll then rest for the day around Nzulezu.

Day 8….. Nzulezo Stilt Village – Nkroful – Axim.

You will have a Canoe Ride Adventure at Nzulezu Stilt Village.
Nzulezo is located near the village of Beyin, roughly 90 kilometers west of Takoradi, in the Jomoro District of the Western Region of Ghana. Nzulezo overlooks the Lake Tadane, and is entirely made up of stilts and platforms.

You will then visit Nkroful, the homeland of the first president of the country, Kwame Nkrumah, before you continue to Axim for a good night rest.

Day 9 – Bobowasi Island – Kokrobite Beach Resort.

The day will lead you on a Canoe Ride to Bobowasi Island, an island in Ghana in the Axim Bay of the Atlantic Ocean, 1.8 kilometres from the town of Axim and Axim Castle, north of Watts Rock, east of Egwang Rock, and south of Mensell Hedwig Rock, at the geographic coordinates 04°52′N 02°15′W. There is a lighthouse on the island.

You will then drive to Kokrobite, for evening Culture, Drumming and Dancing display before you raise the curtain for the day.

Day 10 – Kokrobite Beach – To the Airpoprt.

Your last day in Ghana will be a Relaxing and Enjoying at a Popular seafront spot Kokrobite Beach, which offer golden sand and high-energy nightlife to have experience at beach in Ghana, swim and refresh yourselves for the day, before we make our way to the airport to say Goodbye to Ghana.
