Here are some half day suggestions.

N. 1 - Tivoli: Villa d’Este

Travel through the beautiful countryside and join this excursion to the magnificent Villa d’Este, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Built in 1550 by Cardinal Ippolito d’Este the Villa is located in the so called “Valley of Pleasure” and is worldfamous for the hundreds of fountains, waterplays, waterfalls and sculptures constellating the magnificent Renaissance gardens. Explore the many axes of this heavenly place, discover the beauties of fountains such as the famous Bicchierone by Bernini, the Water Organ fountain, the fountain of Neptune, the Sybils’ Grottoes, the Owl and the Rometta. Enjoy this temple of culture, this meeting place for the intellectual elite, for poets and musicians of the past, admire the incredibly sumptuous pictorial decoration of the Cardinal’s Palace, based on myths and themes from the classical culture. An unforgettable place!

N. 2 - Tivoli: Hadrian’s Villa

Built in the second century by Emperor Hadrian, this huge Villa was the Emperor’s retreat from the political complexity of court life in Rome. Hadrian himself was responsible for the design of his “citadel”. 40 hectares of history, Hadrian’s official residence, today an archaeological area that will surprise you with its opulence and grandeur. Visit the majestic palaces, the many Thermae, temples, pools, theatres, libraries and state rooms. Understand the echoes of the Greek and Egyptian cultures, like in the Canopus and in the “Maritime Theatre”.
Experience ancient Rome through the eyes of the Emperor!

N. 3 - The Roman Hills

The “Castelli Romani” is a lovely area to the south-east of Rome, at the feet of the Alban Hills.
Here you will be inspired by the exquisite beauties of volcanic lakes, gorgeous nature, medieval little towns and excellent food and wines. This area can be considered as a really precious treasure. We will drive to the hilltop towns starting with Castelgandolfo, the Pope’s summer residence and with the unique view on the Albano Lake, originated by a volcano. Then we will reach the picturesque Nemi with its lovely small volcanic lake known as “Diana’s Mirror”, a lovely little town particularly renowned for producing extraordinary strawberries. We will see other small but enchanting towns like Rocca di Papa and we will end up in Frascati with its famous Villas and architecture but for sure extremely famous for its outstanding food and superb white wines. The perfect place to stop and taste the typical “porchetta” and be tempted by an unforgettable glass of Frascati wine, Carpe diem!
