Tour description
This tour visits little know gems of the state of Mexico, of which Toluca is the capital. For those who want to go off the beaten track and go home with a different story.
Toluca´s center contains interesting churches, a Cathedral only finished a few decades ago, and the world-famous greenhouse "El Cosmovitral", representing the creation and evolution of humankind with glass-in-lead pieces.
On our tour we visit also an isolated convent in the middle of the woods, a crafts village and the ruins of Malinalco, the only Aztec site carved out in the rocks of a steep mountain slope. This "Mexican Abu-Simbel" is located in an attractive village with traditional shops and stores, and an old Augustine monastery. On the way, we have fantastic views of Nevado de Toluca, an extinct volcano that is often snowcapped in winter.
This tour includes guide services, transportation and entrance fees.
