Tour description

Villa d’Este is one of the highlights of the sourroundings of Rome, being a clear sample of the refined Renaissance culture. Built in the 16th century by Cardinal Ippolito d’Este, the Palace and Gardens are one of the earliest model of the Italian 16th-century gardens.
The frescoes decorating the Palace celebrate the glory of the lineage d’Este, and the Tiburine Halls illustrate the origins of the city of Tivoli, between history and myth.
The intricate mansion, immaculate flora and hundreds upon hundreds of fountains, geysers and grottos; the gardens themselves are, like water, flowing one into another: the Fountain of the Organ, the Oval Fountain and from there the Hundred Fountains to the Rometta.
